Birthday WOD
Although we have pretty much put an end to the birthday WOD requests (if we didn’t, we would be doing them every 2-3 days), today we will be making an exception. This man is the manliest man I know. He uses duct tape for wrist wraps and even for knee sleeves. If a workout calls for 135# clean and jerks, he warms up with 185# (to make it feel light, he says). His grunts when lifting heavy weights have probably caused a bear or two to tremble. His nickname is Mr. Intensity. He turns 52 tomorrow, and since tomorrow is our scheduled rest day, we will be completing the following workout today in his honor. I even threw in some power cleans and bench presses just because those are two of the manliest lifts around. Happy birthday, Jimmy D!
Strength/Skill:
a. Power cleans, 5x4. Touch and go reps, fast.
b. Close grip bench press, 4x5
Alternate a. and b. until all sets completed.
